From the offer
Cotton ornaments enjoy a good reputation among connoisseurs and are much sought after by many people. Originally, given the natural resemblance, cotton was used as simulation of snow; so a seasonal detail was added to the tree in the living room. Soon one figured out how to stiffen the fluffy material and to make it suited for the creation of very different figures (most favored are St. Nicholas, school children, and pets). Cotton ornaments were mainly produced by homeworkers in German Saxonia and Thuringia.
In contrast, some people don't like cotton ornaments at all (wrongly, in my opinion). They argue that cotton is not paying much, but is humdrum and boring, does not radiate brilliance, is losing the details of figures. Though there is a grain of truth in there, I'm hoping that, to a certain degree, my small offer of cotton items may disabuse them of that opinion.
