Tree Stands |
Still 16 days … | ||||||
PreambleHide | The Christmas tree, deprived of its natural roots, needs a solid and heavy stand to keep its upright position in the parlour or living-room. This problem got a first solution by hanging up the tree on a joist of the ceiling. Many clever devices were invented by ingenious men through the years. Cast iron stands achieved the highest popularity because of their weight and the possibility to give them an attractive design. The highlight of the development are without doubt the turnable Christmas tree stands from the German Black Forest which were equipped with a music box: a never excelled combination of form and function. |
