Tree Stands

The Christmas tree, deprived of its natural roots, needs a solid and heavy stand to keep its upright position in the parlour or living-room. This problem got a first solution by hanging up the tree on a joist of the ceiling. Many clever devices were invented by ingenious men through the years.
