Russian Christmas ornaments are familiar with us (in Western Europe and United States) only since a few years. Even passionate collectors did not know about them. Now, since political borders are more permeable, they are coming into the market more and more. What we see mostly are ornaments made from glass, cotton, or a sort of Dresden cardboard.

Unfortunately, too few is known about the history and background of Russian Christmas ornaments. Indeed, it's a difficult task to rate the age and value of such items. The following is a small choice whose quality I am certain about.
